Our client is a well-established SACCO based in Uganda, dedicated to providing financial solutions to its members and fostering economic growth within the community. They are seeking a competent and experienced Credit Supervisor to manage the day-to-day credit operations of the SACCO, ensuring effective credit management and operational efficiency. The right candidate should be available and ready to join immediately.
Job Summary
The Credit Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the SACCO’s credit management functions, including credit evaluation, debt collection, and portfolio monitoring. The ideal candidate should possess strong competencies in accounts, credit management, and SACCO operations, with a proven track record of maintaining sound credit practices and minimizing risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day credit operations of the SACCO, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
- Evaluate credit applications and make informed approval or rejection decisions.
- Implement and maintain credit policies and procedures in line with SACCO standards.
- Monitor loan portfolios and manage delinquency rates, taking proactive measures to minimize risks.
- Supervise the credit and collections team, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Develop strategies to enhance debt recovery and maintain healthy cash flow.
- Prepare accurate reports on credit performance, delinquency rates, and recovery efforts.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in credit management or accounting are an added advantage.
- Proven experience as a Credit Supervisor or similar role, preferably within a SACCO or financial institution.
- Proficiency in accounting software and credit management systems.
- Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
